Just a quick reminder that our next Information & Support evening will be on Monday 12th of January 2015.

The meeting will be Tesco Extra Newtownards - if you can be there for 7.45pm for an 8pm start it would be appreciated, tea and coffee will as per usual be available.

Please remember to sign in at the Customer Services desk on arrival and then make your way via the stairs or lift up to the Café where one of the Group Committee members will take you through to the meeting room.

Our speaker on the night will be Dr. Steven Kinnear and he will give us a talk on an initiative you might see something about in the media or when you visit a Health & Social Care building in the next few months. 

The Initiative is called the Health & Social Care (HSC) Change Dayhttp://www.hscchangeday.com/ this year it will happen on Monday the 11th of March 2015. It is a request, and for some maybe a challenge, to all who are involved with Health & Social Care, be they Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers, Home Helps, and yes Patients, to think about how they use or interact with Health & Social Care and think about one change they could make that could make a difference.

Be it something simple like pledging to remember to take a list of your prescribed medication to appointments or something big like pledging to give blood, or REALLY big like considering becoming foster parents, every change could make a difference.

So I hope to see as many as you as possible next Monday and maybe you can think between now and then what your pledge might be, or you might even think of a few Steven could take away and suggest to folks who work in Health & Social Care as pledges for them to undertake.
